ABC Utah Committees

The Utah Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors is now accepting interested persons to serve on chapter committees and/or task forces. This is a great opportunity for your company to get involved in ABC initiatives and activities and allows you to engage in your ABC membership. Our committees serve as the brain trusts of our chapter’s strategic business plan which include growth strategies, political influence and workforce development. Committees accepting volunteers are as follows:

Emerging Leaders

ABC Utah Emerging Leaders are dedicated to enhancing the growth of the next generation of construction leadership through mentoring programs, networking and outreach events and educational programming. The Committee is also charged with ABC Cares community service initiatives for the Chapter. Contact us for more information about this committee.

Membership

This committee supports the ABC strategic goal to continuously deliver value to a diverse membership and is committed to our sustainable growth strategy. Utilizing a grassroots style approach to engage the entire membership, the Committee creates relationships with the Board of Directors, all other committees and ABC staff to develop and implement programs that will support and promote the Chapter’s growth strategies within the Chapter. Government Affairs

The Government Affairs Committee supports the ABC strategic goal of increasing ABC’s political influence at the state level to support our members and industry through the merit shop philosophy and free enterprise tenants. The following are the three areas of focus for the Government Affairs Committee:

  • Legislative Affairs
  • PAC (Political Action Committee)
  • Grassroots Committee.

Work Force Development

The Work Force Development Committee supports the ABC strategic goal to be the leading force in the construction industry for workforce development and training.  The Committee delivers industry leading programs and initiatives and is focused on attracting more youth to enter the industry.  They focus on educating both kids, teachers, counselors and parents on the benefits of starting a career in the construction industry. Safety

The ABC Safety Team is a group of members working together to improve their own company safety programs and ensure that each involved member meets and exceeds their own safety goals. ABC is committed to helping members improve their safety record. We offer various programs designed to make the construction workplace a safe workplace.
