Scott Machinery Sells John Deere Business to Honnen Equipment

Scott Machinery, one of the leading construction equipment dealers in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming, has sold its John Deere and Hitachi business to Honnen Equipment Company of Commerce City, Colorado.  Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Jeffrey Scott, the company’s vice president and Wasatch division manager, said the move is part of a growing trend of consolidation among construction equipment dealerships nationwide and will allow them to focus exclusively on selling and leasing new and used Bobcat compact industrial, construction and agri-business equipment, and provide parts and repair services.

“We’re excited to give our full attention to the Bobcat line,” says David, president and CEO, regarding the ongoing Intermountain Bobcat business.  “With 40 years of industry experience in the Intermountain area, we’re well-positioned to become the compact equipment leader by providing excellent service, supporting industry-leading projects and continuing our tradition of total customer satisfaction.”

According to the deal, Scott Machinery will now do business as Intermountain Bobcat with its corporate headquarters at 4100 S. 500 West in Salt Lake City. The company's former headquarters at 4055 S. 500 West in Salt Lake City will now be Honnen Equipment, adding to its 6 locations serving Colorado and Wyoming.

"This acquisition will ensure that John Deere Construction customers in the Rocky Mountain Region will benefit from Honnen Equipment’s larger geographic footprint allowing increased inventory for sales and rentals,” says Mark E. Honnen, president of Honnen

Equipment Co.

Scott Machinery has retained its stores at 1167 Industrial Road in Orem, Cedar City, Salt Lake City and opened a new location at 3788 N. 500 East in Idaho Falls.
