John Cameron of Cameron Construction received the Legacy Award from the Mountain States Construction Magazine formerly the Intermountain Contractors at the Best of 2009 Awards function on December 8, 2009 at the Grand America.
He received the award "For a career of hard work that extends well beyond his own company and its ongoing success."
John Cameron has been very involved in the construction industry as one of the founding members of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Utah (ABC). He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Salt Lake Community College Construction Trades Advisory Council a position he has held for 24 years.
He is also very involved in the community serving in the Sugarhouse Kiwanis Club and on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake for the past 15 years. He has also provided many hours of service to the Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award. John also served his country in the Utah National Guard for 28 years before retiring with the rank of Colonel.
It was an honor for John to be recognized with the Legacy Award for his service to the construction industry and community, John has had a tremendous impact on ABC and his legacy continues to be felt to this day.
