MEMBER SERVICES
Business Development

ABC on a daily basis, introduces your company to a target market of your potential clients through:

The Construction Referral Service (CRS), a national business referral service.

National and Local directories.

Networking with fellow members and staff at chapter meetings and national conferences.

Construction Awards Program, recognizing outstanding accomplishments of our members.

How much would it cost your company to employ a market research firm to design and implement a program that would provide this kind of exposure to your company?

Government Compliance & Labor Relations Assistance

ABC keeps you informed and helps you comply with local, state, and federal government regulations through:

A full time staff in Washington D.C., Utah, and 83 other chapters, nationwide, all on call to answer your questions.

Attorneys on retainer who are experienced with construction clients.

Judge the value of these services by adding up the cost of just one serious violation of the law: (example - fines, attorneys fees).

Member Only Discounts

As a result of purchasing power, ABC members receive "member only" discounts from such companies as LDMI Long Distance Service, Airborne Express, MCI, Budget Car and Truck Rental, among others.

The value to you and your company depends on the use of these services.

Craft and Technology Training

ABC is a leading apprenticeship trainer in the state and can provide your employees with training to make them very productive in any of the major crafts.

How much would you pay for this kind of industry specific training?

Management Training

Between ABC National and Utah ABC, there are dozens of opportunities to increase the productivity of your company. At the national level and local level, there are academies for supervisors, project managers, safety coordinators, and CEO's.

How much would you pay for this type of management training?

Safety Training

ABC presents its members with a wide variety of options for safety training and maintaining quality safety programs for an enhanced job site. Between frequent safety seminars and a free safety video library, members don't have to work hard at preparing their employees and job sites against accidents. Utah ABC members can save anywhere between $20.00-$100.00 on programs when compared to the price that non-members pay.

Estimate your savings as an ABC member.

Information Services

In addition to quarterly chapter newsletters and monthly updates, ABC members receive valuable industry information through a number of resources, including ABC National's bi-monthly issues of "ABC Today", special ABC bulletins and alerts that are designed to make you constantly aware of what's happening in your industry.

While all this is free to ABC members, it has a subscription value of more than $300.00.

Add Up The Value Of The Tangible Services

As you can see, there are many tangible benefits to belonging to ABC Utah, some of which you have already estimated. However, often the most important benefit are the intangibles, things like: ABC's court battles to maintain your ability to operate an open shop; The chapter's lobbying efforts on licensing law, prevailing wage and workers compensation reform; and National ABC's work with Congress to lesson the burden of federal laws and regulations.

These are hard things to measure but are immensely important to your company and your industry. How much are they worth to you?
